Man, 22, Killed; 2 Passengers Injured in Northridge Crash
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (May 29, 2018) — A 22-year-old Northridge man identified as Jarvis Edmond died in a high-speed crash Friday night on Darby Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner.
The collision took place about 11:15 p.m. on Friday night. Edmond’s two passengers were also injured in the collision when the young man lost control of his burgundy 2003 Honda Civic. The vehicle overturned and crashed into a wrought iron fence. Edmond was thrown out of the vehicle and died at the scene. His passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision.
Fatal Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision to determine the cause and liability. At this time, it’s unknown whether or not drugs and or alcohol were factors, but it appears that the collision involved speeding.
Sadly, the driver of this vehicle died of his injuries. Our thoughts and prayers go out to their family at this difficult time.
