Jason Peterson, 38, Seriously Injured in Delhi Hit-and-Run at Stephens and Schendel
DELHI, CA (April 28, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured Jason Peterson at Stephens Street and Schendel Avenue in Delhi.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 38-year-old Modesto man as the victim of the accident which occurred on Sunday.
The incident happened when Jason Anthony Peterson was walking in a south direction on Stephens Street at the intersection with Schendel Avenue in Delhi.
At the same time, a vehicle was going west on Stephens. CHP said for an unknown reason, the driver struck Jason Peterson within the pedestrian crosswalk.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found him on the south shoulder of Stephens Street. He suffered major injuries to his head and left leg as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed him to the Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment. The Merced Sun Star reported the crash on April 25 at about 12:24 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the pedestrian and fled westbound on Stephens. Officers described the car involved as a 2003 to 2006 silver Hyundai Elantra.
The Hyundai Elantra sustained possible damage to the passenger side following the collision. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
