Jason Stanley ID’d as Driver Killed in Crash
SACRAMENTO, California (Oct. 25, 2017) — Jason Stanley, 39, of West Sacramento was killed Tuesday afternoon when his pickup truck slammed into the back of a slow-moving big rig truck, according to the Sacramento Bee.
The fatal crash was reported about 5:43 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway, just west of Truxel Road.
The crash took place during heavy traffic. The truck was reportedly traveling about 5 mph in the No. 3 lane when the pickup truck crashed into it at a speed estimated to be about 65 mph.
It’s unclear why the pickup truck did not attempt to slow down prior to the collision, but an investigation is underway by police to determine liability.
