Jason Wullenwaber, 27, ID’d as Suspect in Sacramento DUI Crash
SACRAMENTO, (October 17, 2022) – Authorities detained Jason Wullenwaber after a DUI crash on Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 27-year-old Sacramento man was under the influence of alcohol and drugs when the wreck took place.
The incident began when a vehicle struck a bicyclist on Stockton Boulevard near Florin Road in Sacramento. The bicycle rider died and the driver fled the area.
CHP officers then responded to the scene and conducted traffic control. One officer was standing outside of their patrol car and investigated the collision.
DUI Driver Hits CHP Officer
At the same time, Jason Ezekiel Wullenwaber was driving a 2004 Ford Mustang at high speeds north on Stockton. In the process, he hit the CHP officer.
The officer ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the accident. Paramedics rushed the patient to a hospital and listed him in critical condition.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim. Medical personnel treated Jason Wullenwaber for the minor injuries he sustained in the Sacramento crash.
Meanwhile, CHP soon arrested the speeding motorist. They booked Jason Wullenwaber into the Sacramento County Main Jail for felony DUI in lieu of a $500,000 bail.
The Sacramento Bee and ABC 10 News wrote that the wreck occurred on Sunday, October 16, shortly after 12:30 a.m. The Sacramento DUI crash is still under investigation.
