Jatinder Sidhu Injured in Corning Crash on South Avenue
CORNING, CA (December 6, 2022) – A fatal big rig crash left Jatinder Sidhu injured near South Avenue and Michigan Avenue in Corning.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Kent, Washington resident as the victim of the wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Jatinder Sidhu was driving a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia big rig east on South Avenue near Michigan Avenue in Corning. At the same time, a 2006 Kia Sorento was going west.
CHP said the driver of the Kia, 75-year-old Denver Williams, tried to pass a vehicle in front of him for an unknown reason. He unsafely entered the oncoming lane and slammed head-on into the semi-truck.

The big rig was transporting at least 70,000 pounds of lumber when it collided with the car. The Action News Now and KRCRTV News wrote that the accident occurred on December 5 at around 5:40 p.m.
Jatinder Sidhu sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics arrived at the scene and provided treatment to the patient.
CHP confirmed that Denver Williams, of Corning, died following the collision. Meanwhile, officers forced South Avenue to shut down in both directions for a time after the wreck.
