Rider Dies After Collision on Ortega Highway Sunday
Lake Elsinore, CA (March 29, 2022) – Javier Hernandez Segura, a 34-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on SR-74, also known as Ortega Highway.
The Press Enterprise News reported Segura was riding a Suzuki motorcycle traveling east on the highway in Lake Elsinore. When the motorcyclist approached the area near South Main Divide, he crashed into the back of an Econoline van.
According to the article published online, the van was waiting in the eastbound lane. The driver of the can wanted to make a left turn into a private parking area when the accident happened.
The force from the impact ejected Segura from his motorbike. When medical personnel arrived at the site, they found the victim lying on the ground. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the man but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as Javier Hernandez Segura.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the condition of the occupants in the van after the incident.
Investigators continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the fatal crash on Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore.
