Javier Martinez-Opez Hurt After Car Accident at Eastside and Hill Road Saturday
Willits, CA (August 28, 2021) – A passenger, Javier Martinez-Opez, suffered injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash in the area of Eastside and Hill Road.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a white Honda Civic crashed while traveling in the streets of Willits. According to the dispatch, the vehicle rolled down the embankment at the intersection of Eastside and Hill Road.
Shortly after 3:15 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the crash site. First responders found a male party with injuries. Authorities later identified the victim as Javier Martinez-Opez.

Preliminary investigation revealed Javier Martinez-Opez was a passenger in the Honda. After the collision happened, two male parties including the driver fled the scene before police arrived.
No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
At this time, detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate several factors surrounding the car accident in Willits.
