Pedestrian Killed in Crash Identified
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. (August 14, 2023) — Javier Millan, 52, died in a pedestrian accident on Vermont Avenue and Knox Street in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles.
The collision occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 10th, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Authorities responded to the scene and learned that a driver in a beige BMW SUV was heading north on Vermont Avenue and hit the victim crossing the roadway in a northbound direction. The 52-year-old man died at the scene.
Meanwhile, it’s unknown if the driver stopped or attempted to flee the scene, but police arrested the 42-year-old driver on unknown charges. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified Javier Millan as the victim who died.
The LAPD’s South Traffic Division is heading up the investigation into the pedestrian accident on Vermont Avenue.
