Deadly Hit-and-Run Collision on Paradise Valley Road
Bay Terraces, CA (May 17, 2023) – Jazmine Cano, and Elizabeth Cano both suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Paradise Valley Road Sunday, May 14.
The ABC10 and CBS8 News reported 23-year-old Jazmine, and 25-year-old Elizabeth were passengers in a Honda Civic. When the car approached the 6000 block of Paradise Valley Road, the Honda driver attempted to make a left turn to southbound Munda Road. In the process, a passing Ford F-150 ran into the sedan. The horrible crash took place at about 2:24 a.m.
According to the article published online, the two passengers in the Honda Civic both suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. Responding paramedics rushed Jazmine Cano, and Elizabeth Cano to the hospital where they both sadly died.
Authorities added the 22-year-old female driver; and a third passenger in the Honda Civic were also taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Suspect Arrested After Fatal Crash in Bay Terraces
Our sources mentioned the driver of the Ford fled the scene before police arrived. Several hours after the catastrophic incident, suspect turned himself in to officers. Police subsequently booked the suspect into San Diego County Jail for felony hit-and-run, and two counts of vehicular manslaughter.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
