Jeanne Bruneau, 72, Killed in Riverside Car Accident
RIVERSIDE (December 30, 2018) – An elderly driver killed after an alleged DUI crash at La Sierra Avenue and Lake Knoll Parkway Friday has been identified as Jeanne Bruneau, according to The Press Enterprise.
Riverside County Coroner’s office said the 72-year-old Riverside woman was a victim of the tragic collision which occurred on December 28 shortly after 4 p.m.
Car Accident at La Sierra and Lake Knoll in Riverside
As per the article, California Highway Patrol reported that the incident began when Bruneau was driving a GMC Acadia north on La Sierra Avenue at Lake Knoll Parkway.
As she was waiting in a left-turn pocket, her SUV was hit from behind by a Chevrolet pickup truck.
CHP affirmed that Bruneau was transported to Riverside Community Hospital and was listed in critical condition. However, the elderly woman later died.
Four other people suffered minor injuries following the wreck. Meanwhile, the motorist in the Chevrolet was believed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence and driving under the influence causing great bodily injury.
