1 Dead, 1 Injured After Driver Runs Stop Sign
DATE OF COLLISION: Wednesday, October 24th
October 25, 2018- According to the Fresno Bee, a deadly 2-car collision was reported yesterday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. at the crossroads of Redwood Avenue and Road 212.
California Highway Patrol officials responded to the crash site between a 2006 Chevy pickup truck and a Ford Ranger.
Preliminary investigations have indicated that the driver of the Chevy who is only being ID’d as a 37-year-old man of Lindsay had been traveling westbound on Redwood. As he approached Road 212, he failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign and was subsequently broadsided by the Ranger driven by Jedediah Choate, 37, of Exeter.
The impact of the crash forced the Chevy into a large sized tree while the Ranger overturned onto its roof.
Jedediah Choate Injured in Collision
The collision left Choate with moderate injuries for which he was hospitalized for. It was unclear whether he was taken by ambulance and elected to find his own way to the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Lindsay man did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Fresno Bee.
CHP officials are currently reviewing the accident as no further details have been disclosed.

Car Accident Injury Lawyer
Based on this news report, the driver of the Chevy will be held responsible for causing the collision by not yielding the right-of-way to Mr. Choate. Authorities will look into other factors, however, such as whether or not the driver under the influence of alcohol or drugs? Did excessive speed or distracted driving play a role? Was the driver negligent in any other way? We trust officials are looking into these and other factors in order to determine precisely what occurred here to help figure out liability.
In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, Jedediah Choate will be entitled to personal injury lawsuit against the driver pending the results of the investigation. If the driver is found responsible, the injured victim may seek compensation for damages including medical expenses and hospital bills and pain and suffering.
