MONTEBELLO, California (Feb. 20, 2017) — Jeffrey Corden, 35, of Los
Angeles has been identified as the bicyclist killed Sunday night when he was rear-ended by a driver named John F. Salvidar. The driver attempted to flee the scene at Concourse Avenue, just past Allston Street, according to bikinginla.com.
The fatal crash took place about 7:31 p.m. last night in this eastern part of Los Angeles.

The suspect tried to flee the scene, but crashed into several parked vehicles and was detained by good Samaritans who held him until police arrived. Salvidar, 35, of Montebello was taken into custody, but it’s unclear what charges he faces at this time.

Bikinginla.com reports that this is the fifth person killed in a collision involving a bicycle so far this year in Southern California.
