Several Injured in Separate Collisions on Road 108
Visalia, CA (January 29, 2023) – Police arrested 35-year-old Jeffrey Meek in relation with a suspected DUI crash that occurred on Road 108 Saturday, January 28.
According to Your Central Valley News, Meek of Visalia was heading north on Road 108. Earlier reports indicated Meek sideswiped a northbound Toyota Rav4 in the area near Avenue 264. After the collision, Meek continued driving and fled the scene.
While fleeing northbound on Road 108, the suspect again crashed into two other cars. Officials described the vehicles of the victims as a Toyota Camry, and a Honda Civic.
Emergency crews responded to both crash sites shortly after 6 p.m. After paramedics evaluated the conditions of all parties involved in the wreck, they confirmed at least four people sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the Rav4; an adult passenger; and a three-month-old were all transported to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Authorities added the drivers, and passengers in the Camry and Honda also sustained injuries in the collision. Paramedics transported the victims to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Injury Car Accident in Visalia
During the investigation process, the California Highway Patrol group determined Jeffrey Meek was intoxicated at the time of the accidents. Police then arrested the suspect and booked him into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility under suspicion of DUI.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
