Jenetta Williams and Denesa Stewart Fatally Injured in DUI Crash
LOCATION: Beverly Hills, Los Angeles County
DATE OF INCIDENT: Friday, April 27th
April 30, 2018– According to the AV Times, two women were killed, several others were injured, and a driver was arrested for driving under the influence following a solo vehicle crash Friday morning.
At roughly 1:23 a.m., the driver of a BMW identified as Taisha Welch, 30, of Los Angeles, had been headed eastbound along Santa Monica Boulevard near Wilshire Boulevard when she lost control and overturned the vehicle.
Two passengers inside were ejected and tragically died of their injuries. The victims have since been identified as Denesha Stewart, 24, of Lakewood, and Jenetta Williams, 30, of Palmdale.
Several Other Passengers Injured and Hospitalized
Meanwhile, at least two other women were occupants of the vehicle. Each of the remaining passengers was hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to very serious. None have been properly ID’d by name thus far.
Taisha Welch Arrested for DUI
Beverly Hills police officials confirmed to AV Times that Taisha Welch was confirmed to have been driving under the influence, without a license, and on a suspended license. She has since been arrested and remains jailed at the Beverly Hills jail and faces charges including gross vehicular manslaughter while being held on $100,000 bail.
