Jennifer Garcia, 41, Killed in Arcata Pedestrian Crash Near St. Louis and Janes Creek
ARCATA, CA (February 5, 2022) – Pedestrian Jennifer Garcia was killed after a crash near St. Louis Road and Janes Creek Drive in Arcata.
A GoFundMe drive identified the 41-year-old Arcata woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place last month.
The incident happened when Jennifer Garcia was walking with her 2-year-old child in a stroller in Arcata. The two were near the intersection of St. Louis Road and Janes Creek Drive at the time.
Police said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the mother in the marked crosswalk. She pushed the stroller out of the driver’s way and took the full blow.

Jennifer Garcia sustained severe injuries, including multiple broken bones, a fractured pelvis and major trauma to the brain. as a result of the pedestrian accident.
An air ambulance took her to a hospital in Santa Rosa, where she died. The Times Standard wrote that the collision occurred January 22 at about 12:46 p.m.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 29-year-old Arcata man driving the vehicle stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. They believed that he was inattentive when he hit the woman.
The cause of the Arcata pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
