DINUBA (July 4, 2018) – A woman was killed and another was seriously injured after an alleged hit-and-run accident on Avenue 408 early Wednesday morning, according to The Fresno Bee.

The collision involving two vehicles occurred at around 4:30 a.m., east of Road 104.

As per the article, California Highway Patrol said 21-year-old Jennifer Magana was driving a red 2005 Toyota Matrix west on Avenue 408 when her car was struck from behind by a gray 2011 Chevy Malibu.

The Chevy was allegedly traveling above the speed limit in the same direction when it hit the Toyota. The impact forced the Matrix into a pole nearby.

Fatal Car Accident on Avenue 408 Near Road 104

CHP affirmed that a 21-year-old Dinuba woman riding as a passenger in the Toyota was pinned inside the wreckage following the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Magana suffered major injuries including a broken leg and internal damages upon impact. The Sultana resident was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Malibu abandoned the vehicle and possibly ran away in another car. The incident remains under investigation.
