Driver Hits Horse, Both Killed in Crash
JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. (Sept. 25, 2023) — Jennifer Smith, 42, of Riverside, died after her vehicle hit a loose horse Sunday night on Van Buren Boulevard in Jurupa Valley.
The fatal crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24th, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The horse reportedly got loose from its fenced property and was in the roadway. The driver reportedly crashed into the unmanned horse and both the horse and the woman died at the scene.
Investigators are working on the case. Witnesses are encouraged to call Deputy Shinn of the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at 951-955-2600.
