Jeri Kennedy, 65, Killed in Littlerock DUI Hit-and-Run on Highway 138
LITTLEROCK (January 26, 2020) – A pedestrian killed after an alleged DUI hit-and-run collision along Highway 138 Thursday has been identified.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said 65-year-old Jeri Kennedy, a resident of Littlerock, died following the accident on January 23.
California Highway Patrol determined that Kennedy was walking a dog of her friend on Highway 138 when she was struck by a 1998 Lincoln.
According to reports by The Antelope Valley Times and KTLA, the incident happened when the vehicle driven by 62-year-old Alfredo Rodriguez was traveling westbound.

Rodriguez then steered the Lincoln onto the shoulder where he hit the woman. The tragic crash took place at around 7:55 p.m., just west of 77th Street East.
Paramedics responded to the site and pronounced Kennedy dead at the scene. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that Rodriguez stopped after hitting the victim, exited his car but ultimately fled.
Rodriguez became in a second traffic incident on Avenue S at 25th Street East in Palmdale. Officers arrested the Palmdale man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
CHP added that a total of seven people were injured in the wreck. Two were rushed to a hospital in critical condition while four others, including the suspect, were hospitalized with minor wounds.
The seventh patient was treated at the accident location for minor wounds. The names of the wounded parties were not immediately available.
