Two Men Killed in Street Racing Crash Identified by Coroner
Jerman Marquez, 39, and Richard Inda, 29, were killed Saturday night when their car slammed into a tree and burst into flames while allegedly street racing on Bear Street in Santa Ana.
Police say the vehicle was being driven by Inda and it was engaged in a street race with another motorist as it traveled north on Bear Street from MacArthur Boulevard, according to the Orange County Register.
The solo-vehicle crash took place about 9:18 p.m. in the 3200 block of Bear Street at Alton Avenue. The two men died in the vehicle before firefighters arrived and found their vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
Police stated that prior to the crash, the two vehicles were driving past Alton Avenue when Inda lost control and struck a tree in the center median of Bear Street. The other vehicle kept driving and police are hoping to identify the suspect and question them.
Witnesses should call the Santa Ana Police Department’s Traffic Division at (714) 245-8200.
Our heartfelt prayers extend to the families of both of these men as they cope with this tragedy. — Johnson Attorneys Group
