Jerry Mehr, 59, and Susan Malhiot, 57, Injured in Motorcycle Crash
DATE OF COLLISION: Thursday, September 6th
YUCAIPA (September 10, 2018)- According to the Redlands Daily Facts, a major injury motorcycle collision was reported last week where a man and a woman were both injured at Oak Glen Road and the I-10 on-ramp.
Authorities were notified of the collision Thursday morning at 10:40 a.m. after a motorcycle was struck by an SUV.
Both the operator, Jerry Mahr, 59, of Moreno Valley, and Susan Malhiot, 57, also of Moreno Valley, were seriously injured and quickly rushed to a hospital, where they remained over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV ID’d as Brandie O’ Neil, 38, a Yucaipa resident, was uninjured.
At this time, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is the agency handling the investigation.
No details have been released in regards to the cause of the accident at this time.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will carry out a forensic examination of both the vehicle and the motorcycle, as well as photos that were taken of the scene, will help investigators determine which party ultimately caused the accident. Authorities will thoroughly look into how fast each driver was going, whether or not alcohol or drugs were involved, whether or not there were any mechanical issues with either vehicle, whether or not one of the drivers ran a red light or simply did not yield to the right of way motorist. In such cases where negligence or wrongdoing may have been a factor, both Jerry Mehr and Susan Malhiot may be granted the right to file a personal injury lawsuit pending the investigation results.
