 Jesse Espino Killed in Fresno Crash First Street and McKinley Avenue

FRESNO, Calif. (Jan. 18, 2023) — Jesse Espino, 35, of Clovis, died in a hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning at First Street and McKinley Avenue in central Fresno.

The deadly crash occurred about 3 a.m. on Jan. 11th, according to ABC 30 News.

The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner identified the Clovis man as the person who died in the wreck.

Shane Lee Shahan was allegedly driving the pickup truck involved in the deadly crash. Authorities believe he drove through a red light and crashed into the car occupied by two people. He reportedly fled on foot from the crash scene towards Highway 41. Authorities later located the suspect and arrested him on felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter charges, the report said.

The Fresno Police Department reported there were two men inside the victim’s vehicle. The second person survived the collision with injuries and Jesse Espino died at the hospital.

Investigators continue to investigate the case.
