Jessica Acunia, 23, Suspect in Tower District Hit-and-Run Accident

December 4, 2018 – The suspect in the hit-and-run accident over the weekend on Olive Avenue has been identified as 23-year-old Jessica Acunia.
According to the Fresno Bee, Acunia turned herself in and was booked into Fresno County Jail on charges of felony hit and run and failure to have a court-ordered ignition interlock device.

As per the article, Acunia was the driver of the car that struck 36-year-old John Rodriquez early Sunday morning on Olive Avenue. The collision resulted in serious injuries to Rodriquez, who was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with a skull fracture, a fractured vertebra and other life-threatening injuries.
Authorities added they continue to search for the man who knocked Rodriguez, pushing him onto the roadway where he was struck by the vehicle. The man who pushed Rodriguez is believed to be a Hispanic or Samoan.
