Jessica Myers and Frankie Rodriguez Killed; Baby Critically Injured in Car Accident
MADERA COUNTY (September 26, 2018) – The two people killed after a DUI crash in the area of Avenue 9 and Road 40 last week have been identified, according to ABC 30 and The Madera Tribune.
Madera County Coroner’s Office said said 24-year-old Jessica Myers and 26-year-old Frankie Jose Rodriguez died in an accident which occurred on September 20 at around 6 p.m.
Myers was from Chowchilla while Rodriguez was a Salinas resident. Their 1-year-old daughter, Ellie Rodriguez, was critically injured.
As per the reports, California Highway Patrol said 45-year-old Alvaro Martinez was driving a 1993 Acura Legend east on Avenue 9 when he crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with the family’s 2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara.

Myers and Rodriguez were pronounced dead at the scene. Their baby was immediately taken to Valley Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile Martinez was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno and was listed in grave condition. A strong odor of marijuana was present and an alcohol bottle was found in his car.
The Fresno man has been placed under arrest and is facing two counts of gross felony vehicular homicide, among other charges. The suspect is also believed to be unlicensed to drive at the time.
