605 Freeway Fatal Car Accident at Peck Road
INDUSTRY, Calif. (June 12, 2018) – Jessie Romero, 33, a Caltrans
subcontractor who was working on the freeway, died early Tuesday morning in a collision on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Industry, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 4:40 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway at Peck Road, the CHP said. The victim was struck by a big rig as he was picking up traffic-
control warning signs on the freeway. Police and paramedics were at the scene and closed down two southbound lanes to help those involved and conduct an investigation into what happened.
The family of Mr. Romero has created a Go Fund Me page to help his wife in the aftermath of this devastating crash.

It is unknown at this time who is going to be held responsible for this collision. All parties involved and witnesses are being questioned in order to piece together the sequence of events that led to this deadly crash. There are still many unanswered questions including whether or not the truck driver was traveling to fast near a construction zone or if drowsy or distracted driving was a factor.
