SUN VALLEY, Calif. (June 7, 2018) – Jesus Alberto Torres, 23, of Sun Valley died and a 37-year-old woman was seriously injured early Thursday morning in a solo collision in the 11000 block of Sherman Way, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The crash took place about 3:30 a.m. Police say a driver in a Nissan Murano lost control while speeding and crashed into a parked vehicles on Sherman Way. The impact was so violent that it ejected two of its occupants, spun around and struck two other parked vehicles.
Torres was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Two others exited the vehicle and fled the scene. One of them was a man and police do not know whether one of those who fled were driving the vehicle. The collision is being investigated as a hit-and-run.
Witnesses are asked to call Valley traffic division detectives at 818-644-8020.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION
Police are investigating this collision as a hit-and-run, but at this time they are unsure whether or not the person who fled was indeed the driver. One person lost his life and a woman is fighting for hers. There are certainly many questions that need to be answered.
