Jesus Jimenez, 43, Seriously Injured in Mendocino County Crash on Highway 101
MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (June 15, 2021) – A fatal crash on Highway 101 seriously injured Jesus Jimenez in Mendocino County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 43-year-old Daly City man as the victim of the wreck which occurred on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened when Jesus Jimenez was driving a Mack semi-truck south on Highway 101, south of Hopland. At the same time, a U Haul type trailer was going north.
For an unknown reason, the motorhome crossed over into the southbound lanes and slammed head-on into the big rig. The semi-truck went over the side near the Frog Woman Rock.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then extricated the operator of the big rig from the wreckage. Jesus Jimenez sustained major injuries as a result of the Highway 101 crash.
An air ambulance soon took him to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. The Ukiah Daily Journal and KYMKEMP wrote that the accident took place at about 7:06 a.m.
Meanwhile, the driver of the recreational vehicle ended up ejected and died at the scene. CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for several hours following the wreck.
The cause of the Mendocino County crash is still under investigation.
