Oakdale Man Arrested on Drunk Driving Charges; 2 Dead, 3 Injured

 Jesus Perez, 23, of Oakdale, Arrested DUI Fatal Crash Orange Blossom Road OAKDALE, Calif. (May 19, 2021) —Jesus Perez, 23, of Oakdale, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after he crashed his car into another vehicle and killed two people.

A man and woman from Oakdale died in the 7 p.m. collision on May 18th, according to the Modesto Bee.

The Tuesday night crash happened when the suspected drunk driver’s pickup truck collided with an SUV at Orange Blossom and Lancaster roads.

Additionally, Jesus Perez and his two passengers suffered minor to major injuries in the DUI collision, the CHP said.

Head-on Crash Leaves 2 Dead in Oakdale Area

The southbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck allegedly drifted into opposing traffic. The vehicle collided with a couple in a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The victims who died were the 78-year-old man driving the SUV and his passenger, a 76-year-old woman.

Jesus Perez Arrested on DUI Charges

Meanwhile, paramedics responded and transported both Perez and his two passengers to the hospital. Perez and one passenger had major injuries and the other passenger had minor injuries.

Investigators believe that Jesus Perez was drunk at the time of the crash.
