Bicyclist Jesus Plancarte Killed in Hit-and-Run at Story Road and Jackson Avenue
SAN JOSE (August 30, 2019) – A bicyclist killed and after an alleged hit-and-run crash at Story Road and Jackson Street Thursday has been identified as Jesus Orozco Plancarte.
Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office said 44-year-old San Jose resident man died following the collision which occurred on August 29 just after 2 p.m.
Police determined that Plancarte was in a crosswalk at the intersection when he was struck by a gold-colored Chevrolet Suburban.
The Suburban was initially headed west on Story Road when it slammed into a blue Chevrolet Silverado at Jackson Street. The SUV continued through the intersection and then struck the cyclist.

According to reports by The Mercury News and ABC 7, paramedics responded to the site and pronounced Plancarte dead at the scene.
The man driving the pickup truck was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The name and condition of the wounded patient were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the operator of the Suburban did not stop to render aid and fled. The incident remains under investigation.
