Aler Enriquez Roldan, 42, Killed in Hollister Rollover Crash on Highway 25
HOLLISTER (January 8, 2020) – Authorities detained the alleged DUI driver in a crash that killed one person and seriously injured another along Highway 25 last week.
California Highway Patrol determined that Jesus Rodriguez, 34, was under the influence of alcohol when the fatal accident occurred on January 2.
The incident began when a 2017 Ford van was driving on a private driveway, just west of Highway 25, while Rodriguez was going south.
According to reports by The Mercury News, the van then entered the highway and then collided with the 2004 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Rodriguez.

The Ford flipped over and ultimately came to a stop in a ditch. The tragic wreck took place at about 9:10 p.m., north of Bolsa Road near Gilroy.
The operator of the van died at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 42-year-old Aler Enriquez Roldan, of San Jose.
Paramedics also took a passenger of the Ford, a 39-year-old man, to a hospital with major injuries. His name and condition were not available.
Meanwhile, medical personnel transported Rodriguez with minor wounds. Officers later booked the Hollister man into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose on suspicion of DUI.
