Jesus Torres, 23, Killed Sun Valley Hit-and-Run at Sherman and Vineland
SUN VALLEY (June 7, 2018) – A man killed in an alleged hit-and-run collision at Sherman Way and Vineland Avenue early Thursday has been identified as Jesus Alberto Torres, according to KTLA and My LA News.
Police identified the deceased as Juan Alberto Torres, but the sheriff’s department indicated that the victim was known as Jesus Alberto Torres.
The 23-year-old Sun Valley man was a passenger in a car involved in the fatal accident which also seriously injured a 37-year-old woman.

As per the reports, police said a Nissan Murano carrying four people was speeding west on Sherman Way when its driver lost control of the vehicle. The Nissan then slammed into at least two parked cars before hitting a light pole.
Torres and the woman were both ejected from the Murano during the crash. The wreck occurred about 3:30 a.m. in the 11000 block of Sherman Way, at the intersection with Vineland Avenue.
Police affirmed that Torres died at the scene, while the 37-year-old female occupant was rushed to a hospital where she was listed in critical condition. Her name was not released.
Meanwhile, the driver and another passenger from the Nissan fled on foot after the incident. Anyone with information about the collision is urged to contact Valley traffic division detectives at 818-644-8020.
