Sacramento Man, 71, Struck and Killed at Intersection
SACRAMENTO — Jilberdo Uranga Avila, 71, of Sacramento, died Saturday in a pedestrian accident at Center Parkway and Arroyo Vista Drive in the Valley Hi area of Sacramento.
The deadly crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on August 26th the the intersection, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner. The coroner’s website identified the Sacramento man.
Authorities responded to the scene and located the victim down in the roadway suffering major injuries, CBS News 10 reports. Despite efforts to save his life, the man died at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver involved stopped and cooperated with police at the scene.
Police are investigating what led up to the crash and will determine fault.
At this time, there were no arrests were made and police would like witnesses to contact them.
