Bicyclist, 75, Killed in Mendota Crash is Identified

MENDOTA, Calif. (August 7, 2024) — Jimmy Cruz, 75, of Mendota, died July 30th when a semi-truck hit him while riding a bicycle along Highway 33, near Belmont Avenue.

The deadly crash occurred at 11:07 a.m. on July 30th, according to the Fresno County Sheriff-Coroner’s office.

The circumstances leading up to the traffic accident were not released.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the bicycle accident on Highway 33 in Mendota.
