Jimmy Saravia, 19, Fresno County Crash on Highway 33 and Shaw Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (October 23, 2022) – A fatal crash left Jimmy Saravia injured on Highway 33 in Fresno County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 19-year-old Mendota man as the victim of the wreck which took place on Friday.
The incident happened when Jimmy Saravia was driving a vehicle towing a two-axle flatbed trailer south on Highway 33 near Shaw Avenue in Fresno County. At the same time, a Ford was going north.
For an unknown reason, the Ford drifted into the southbound lane and into the path of the trailer loaded with fertilizer. In the process, the two collided head-on.
2 Killed in Wreck
CHP said both vehicles obtained major front-end damage due to the impact of the collision. The Fresno Bee wrote that the accident occurred on October 21 at about 11:04 p.m.
Jimmy Saravia sustained minor injuries and complained of pain as a result of the crash. Paramedics arrived and treated him.
Both the female driver of the Ford and her male passenger died at the scene of the incident. Meanwhile, the cause of the Fresno County crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced Highway 43 to shut down near Shaw Avenue for several hours following the wreck.
