Jinshui Li, 78, Killed in Irvine Pedestrian Accident at Meadowood and Yale Avenue

IRVINE, Calif. (August 18, 2026) – Jinshui Li, 78, was struck and killed Monday morning in an Irvine pedestrian accident at Meadowood and Yale Avenue.

According to the Irvine Police Department, a driver in a Chevrolet pickup reportedly struck the elderly Irvine man around 10 a.m. on Aug. 17th as he was crossing the street. Authorities say the victim was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Irvine Pedestrian Accident Investigation

Paramedics responded and rushed Li to a hospital, but sadly, he died from his injuries. The police report did not mention whether the driver stopped following the crash.

Finally, the Irvine Police Dept’s Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the investigation.
