Jocelyn Medina Injured in Fatal Crash on Skyway Road in Magalia
Man, 25, Killed in Violent Crash into Tree in Magalia
MAGALIA, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2025) — Jocelyn Medina, 20, of San Dimas, was critically injured Thursday in a fatal crash on Skyway Road, just north of Rosewood Drive in Magalia.
The deadly collision occurred just before midnight on Feb. 27th, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Investigators from the CHP’s Chico station are working on the case involving the death of a 25-year-old Mentone man who was driving the 2007 Lexus IS-350.
Jocelyn Medina was his passenger in the Lexus when the vehicle went off the roadway and crashed into a tree. The vehicle was split in half and both the driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected.
The young woman survived with major injuries and was taken by ambulance to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
Traffic detectives are working on the case and will determine whether alcohol or distracted driving played a role.
