Joe Barrett, 18, Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run on Port Chicago On-Ramp to Highway 4
CONCORD (February 11, 2020) – A pedestrian was critically injured after an alleged hit-and-run collision on the Highway 4 on-ramp Monday night.
Family friends identified the wounded victim of the tragic accident which occurred on February 10 as 18-year-old Joe Barrett.
The California Highway Patrol said Barrett apparently had just gotten off a bus when for an unknown reason a vehicle struck him.

Officers responded to the Port Chicago Highway on-ramp to eastbound Highway 4 shortly after 9 p.m. and found the young man down in the roadway with life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics immediately transported the patient to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek where he was listed in critical condition.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. Authorities later indicated that they located a person and vehicle of interest related to the case.
