Joe Lang, 68, Fatally Struck by a Vehicle at R Street and Buena Vista Drive
MERCED (May 23, 2018) – On May 13, Sunday, a deadly hit-and-run pedestrian collision occurred at the intersection of R Street and Buena Vista Drive.
The victim has been identified as 68-year-old Joe Lang, of Catheys Valley.

According to Merced Sun-Star, Lang was walking in the area when he was struck by a vehicle at roughly 2:00 a.m. Authorities said the pedestrian did not survive his injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned a man spoke to police the following day and said he was the driver and gave a reason for why he could not stop. As per the article, authorities declined to be more specific and said the story of the motorist involved is under investigation.
At this time, detectives continue to determine several factors in the deadly incident.
