Minor Injury Crash on SR-46 Thursday
TEMPLETON, Ca (April 11, 2020) – A traffic accident that occurred on Highway 46 near Lucy Brown Road Thursday resulted in injuries, according to Paso Roles Daily News.
Preliminary investigation revealed 54-year-old Joe Padilla, of Bakersfield, was at the wheel of a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 flatbed truck traveling in light traffic and light rain. At the same time, 47-year-old Jose Casas, from Indiana, was driving a 2018 Freightliner tractor and 53-foot semi-trailer fully loaded with produce.
Investigators believed that due to fatigue, Padilla drifted out of his lane and veered into the westbound side of the highway. As a result, Padilla sideswiped Casas. Both trucks ended up completely blocking the eastbound lane on the Cholame Creek bridge.
The crash happened at approximately 7:35 a.m.
