Joel Jimenez-Cervante, 25, ID’d as Suspect in Sacramento Fatal DUI Crash
SACRAMENTO, CA (November 20, 2022) – Authorities detained Joel Jimenez-Cervante after a fatal DUI crash in Sacramento.
Police determined that the 25-year-old man was under the influence when the wreck took place on Sunday.
The incident began when Joel Jimenez-Cervante was driving in the area of Dry Creek Road and Marysville Boulevard in Sacramento.
Police said his car then collided with two more vehicles near the intersection. The KCRA News wrote that the accident occurred at around 4:15 p.m.

UPDATE: Woman killed in crash identified
A female passenger in a vehicle sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed the woman to a hospital, where she died.
Joel Jimenez-Cervante and at least one other person survived the crash with non-life-threatening injuries. Medical personnel rushed both patients to the hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police arrested Joel Jimenez-Cervante for vehicular manslaughter and DUI.
Officers soon booked him into the Sacramento County Jail. The cause of the Sacramento DUI crash is still under investigation.
