Jogger Struck, Killed In Murrieta Crash on Whitewood Road was Nabil Alsalek

MURRIETA, CA (Sept. 15, 2026) — Nabil Alsalek, 73, of Murrieta, died Sunday morning in Murrieta when he was struck by a vehicle while jogging near Whitewood Road and Meadowlark Lane amid dense fog, police said.
The deadly pedestrian accident occurred around 6:57 a.m. on Sept. 13th, at the Murrieta intersection, according to the Murrieta Police Department.
A 52-year-old woman was traveling southbound on Whitewood Road when she hit the Murrieta man as he was reportedly jogging near the intersection.
The driver told detectives she attempted to swerve and avoid the pedestrian, but was unable to miss him. She stopped her vehicle and someone called 911 for help as she rendered aid to the injured man, according to the Murrieta Police Department.
Nabil Alsalek sustained major injuries and was taken by ambulance to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar where he later died at 11:47 a.m. the same day.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner identified the victim on its website.
Police do not suspect alcohol and drugs were factors in the collision; however, they noted there was dense fog in the area at the time of the collision.
