Pedestrian Hit by Car in January Dies at Hospital
LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 21, 2022) – John Kim, 58, of Long Beach, died Sunday roughly a month a pedestrian accident while crossing Cherry Avenue in Long Beach.
A driver in a 2007 Audi reportedly struck John Kim about 6:20 a.m. on Jan. 27 at the intersection of Cherry Avenue and 15th Street, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The pedestrian accident happened as John Kim attempted to cross Cherry Avenue against the “Don’t Walk” sign, the report said.

Paramedics transported John Kim to a hospital where he remained until his death on Sunday, Feb. 20th.
Meanwhile, there were no arrests made following the crash. The 32-year-old Long Beach man driving the southbound Audi, stopped and cooperated with police.
Investigators with the LBPD do not suspect distracted driving, impaired driving and or excessive speed were factors in this crash.
Investigators continue to work on the case.
