Victim of Fatal Crash in Long Beach Identified as New York Man
LONG BEACH, Calif. (October 21, 2019) — John Lakkas, 42, of Oyster Bay, New York, was died Monday following a high-speed crash on Ocean Boulevard and 710 Freeway in Long Beach.
The solo-vehicle collision took place at 3:35 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20th, according to a report by the Long Beach Police Department.
The 35-year-old man driving the 2019 Infiniti Q50S reportedly lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. The impact split the car in half and ejected the passenger identified as Lakkas from the vehicle. Paramedics transported Lakkas to the hospital, but passed away on Monda morning at 12:25 a.m.
The Long Beach Police Department is investigating this incident.
