John Macias, 11, Killed in Accident Near Vernon Middle School
MONTCLAIR (September 8, 2018) – The boy killed after being struck by a car on San Bernardino Street near a middle school Thursday has been identified as John Macias, according to The Press-Enterprise.
The 11-year-old boy from Montclair was a victim of a tragic incident which occurred just before 8 a.m. near Vernon Middle School.
As per the article, San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said the child was crossing south on San Bernardino Street on his way to school when he was hit by a pickup truck. The car reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign before hitting the juvenile.

John Macias suffered severe head injuries and was immediately taken to Montclair Hospital Medical Center where he later died. He was in a marked crosswalk when the accident took place.
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup stopped and cooperated with the authorities. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
