Pedestrian John Paterson, 79, Killed in Ventura Crash at Ocean and Jordan
VENTURA, CA (December 9, 2022) – John Paterson was killed after a pedestrian crash at Ocean and Jordan avenues in Ventura.
The coroner’s office identified the 79-year-old Flushing, New York resident as the victim of the fatal accident which took place on Wednesday.
The incident happened when John Paterson was crossing the intersection of Ocean and Jordan avenues in the city of Ventura. At the same time, a car was going east on Ocean Avenue.
Man Hit by Car
Police said for an unknown reason, the vehicle struck him. The Ventura County Star wrote that the collision occurred on December 7 at around 7:50 a.m.
John Paterson sustained serious injuries as a result of the pedestrian accident. Paramedics arrived at the scene and then found him down on the ground.
Medical personnel rushed the man to a hospital, where he soon died. Meanwhile, officers added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site following the collision.
