Arizona Man, 61, Killed in Hit-Run Crash in Azusa
AZUSA, Calif. (Jan. 23, 2024) – John Sigala, 61, of Avondale, Arizona, died Friday night in a hit-and-run Azusa pedestrian accident on South Irwindale Avenue and Roosevelt Street.
A driver struck the victim as he was crossing S. Irwindale Avenue at around 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19th, according to Whittier Daily News.
The report did not mention if the victim was walking in the painted crosswalk at the intersection which is not controlled by traffic lights or stop signs.
A driver in a compact car struck John Sigala and fled the scene without stopping to help him.
Paramedics and the Azusa Police Department responded to help the victim, but he died at the scene.
Police are searching for the suspect in a compact car that likely has “major front end damage and possibly a broken windshield,” the report said.
