Pilot John Spencer Killed in Plane Crash Near Palo Alto Airport

September 6, 2018 – The pilot killed in a plane crash on Tuesday near Palo Alto airport has been identified as John Spencer, of Placerville.
According to a local news source, a single-engine Mooney M20 crash landed, for reasons still under investigation, in a body of water near Palo Alto Duck Pond on Embarcadero Road shortly after 11 a.m. on Tuesday.
Officials said the male pilot, later identified as Spencer, died in the accident.
Nancy Dellamaria and Chloe King Injured in Palo Alto Plane Accident
As per the article, Spencer piloted for Angel Flight West–a program providing free flights for people who need medical treatment. The deceased was reportedly flying 49-year-old Nancy Dellamaria, and 16-year-old Chloe King from Redding to Palo Alto for a medical appointment at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford.
Authorities mentioned the mother and daughter survived the crash and are recovering.
The National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration are the agencies handling the investigation.
