John Wallace, 42, Seriously Injured in Petaluma Crash on Northbound Highway 101
PETALUMA, CA (April 28, 2021) – John Wallace was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash on Highway 101 in Petaluma.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 42-year-old Santa Rosa man as the victim of the accident on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened on April 26 when John Wallace was riding a motorcycle north on Highway 101, north of Petaluma Boulevard North.
A GMC Sierra apparently made an unsafe lane change and allegedly hit the motorcyclist. CHP said the rider slid on the highway and then collided with a Volkswagen Golf.

John Wallace ended up ejected from his bike upon impact. According to the article published by The Press Democrat, officers reported the wreck at about 5:30 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene. They found both Wallace and his motorcycle down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took him to the hospital for treatment of a broken wrist, broken forearm and road rash all over his body. Officials did not release his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the GMC truck left the area. Officers forced the northbound lanes of the roadway to close for a time following the wreck.
Authorities are still searching for the operator of the Sierra. The Petaluma crash is still under investigation.
