4 Children Injured in Collision Near Clovis Avenue Friday
Fresno, CA (March 12, 2022) – Police arrested 27-year-old Johnae Desarae Andrews in relation with a traffic crash that occurred on Belmont Avenue Friday evening.
The Fresno Bee News reported Andrews was behind the wheel of a vehicle traveling in the streets of southeast Fresno. When the car approached the area near Clovis Avenue, the driver allowed the car to drift off the roadway. Officials said the vehicle came to a rest after crashing into a stone and iron fence.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the site. First responders found several children inside the mangled Chevrolet Suburban. Paramedics checked the conditions of each juvenile, then transported them to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

Authorities said Andrews showed signs of intoxication during the investigation process. Given that, police arrested the man on suspicion of three felony charges: being an intoxicated driver causing injury or death to someone other than herself; having a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher; and causing cruelty, harm or injury to a child.
Further investigation on the car crash is underway.
