DUI Hit-and-Run Driver Johnathan Hall, 27, Seriously Injures Police in San Jose Crash
SAN JOSE, CA (May 8, 2021) – Authorities detained Johnathan Hall after a DUI hit-and-run crash that injured a police officer in San Jose.
Officials determined that the 27-year-old San Jose man was under the influence when the accident occurred on Friday, May 7.
The incident happened when a San Jose police officer had just finished a traffic stop on Suncrest Avenue near Perie Lane. He was standing outside his marked patrol SUV.
At the same time, Johnathan Hall was driving a Subaru sedan at a high rate of speed up a hill. He then lost control of his car and struck the officer near the intersection.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the victim on the ground with a cut on his head. He sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the officer to a hospital for treatment. The Mercury News and CBS San Francisco wrote that the accident took place at about 12:40 a.m.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Hall did not stop to render aid to the officer and fled the area. Police soon located the Subaru and arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and felony DUI.
Authorities booked Hall into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in lieu of a $150,000 bail. The San Jose DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
