Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Grover Lane
Butte County, CA (June 8, 2023) – Johnny Byrd, a 57-year-old male, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on State Route Highway 70.
According to Kuba News, a vehicle struck an individual on the highway near Grover Lane in Butte County. Earlier reports indicated Byrd attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of SR-70. While in the middle of the roadway, the 34-year-old driver of an oncoming car was not able to avoid and hit the pedestrian. The horrible crash took place on June 6, Tuesday, around 11:30 p.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Butte County
Emergency crews responded to the location and attended to the injured pedestrian. Despite life-saving efforts performed by paramedics, the victim sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The Butte County Coroner later revealed the identity of the deceased as Johnny Byrd, of Oroville.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the driver involved in the catastrophic incident.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate liability in the deadly pedestrian accident that happened on Highway 70 in Butte County.
